Hi everyone! 👋
Today I’m excited to share a work-in-progress from one of my latest Blender projects a stylized anime-style 3D character I've been building from scratch. This project focuses on clean modeling, good topology, and creating smooth, natural-looking hair using curves.
The Process for this 3D character
For this character, I’m using traditional poly modeling techniques — no sculpting involved. The body is made with clean edge loops to make future rigging and animation easier. I'm paying special attention to proportions to capture that classic anime look: larger expressive eyes, a subtle nose, and smooth facial features.
The hair is created using curves, allowing more control over flow and volume. This method keeps the mesh lighter and more flexible compared to traditional mesh modeling, especially for stylized designs.
What's Next?
Fine-tuning the hair shapes and overall silhouette
Adding clothes to the character (since it's currently just the base mesh)
Refining body details like hands and smaller features
Preparing the model for rigging and posing
Exploring toon shaders for the final render!
Thanks for stopping by — and stay tuned for the next update! 🚀
